Affordable Valentines

Making Valentine’s Day special doesn’t have to break the bank. If actions speak louder than words, you can make a statement this Valentine’s Day without spending a dime. Here are some of my favorite ways to say “I love you.”
- Make his favorite dinner. Put the kids to bed, light candles and put on soft music. Finish dinner with a slow dance.
- Write him a love letter. Tell him all the reasons why you love him more today than your first Valentine’s Day together.
- Dress the part. Is there an outfit (or lingerie) he loves to see you in? Perfume he loves? Make sure to wear it for him.
- Rub him the right way. Get every ounce of tension out of him, and let him return the favor, with a hot oil massage.
- Collect those special memories. Compile songs, photos, family videos, anything that has a special meaning to you both and make a collage, montage, or album.
- Indulge him with attention and affection. Hugs, kisses, and thanks all go a long way to letting him know how happy you are that he’s your man.
- Give him lots of rainchecks. Make your own “loving” coupon book that he can redeem whenever he wants for some special attention. Wink. Wink.
- Share his interests. Vow that you’ll talk with him about a hobby or interest that he has — that you don’t. Let him get fired up talking about what makes him passionate.
- Shower him with attention. Make room in the tub, or shower, to slather each other with your favorite smelling bath salts/soaps.
- Give him your undivided attention. Don’t answer the phone tonight. Just make it about the two of you.
