How to decorate for passion

February 9, 2010

Maybe it’s because I was born in the romantic month of February that I live for romance and passion. The one place in my home that is sure to inspire romance and ignite a fire is my bedroom.

What does your bedroom inspire? If your answer is sleep, then its time to make your bedroom over into a sexy boudoir!!!

  • Start with a clean room. Clutter kills the mood!
  • Clean, fresh matching sheets with a luxurious comforter and a plethora of pillows!
  • Candles!! Not only is candle light romantic, it makes us look soft, young and sexy! Try different scents like Jasmine which is said to have aphrodisiac-like properties!
  • Fresh cut flowers aren’t just for the kitchen or living room! Place a beautiful bouquet on your dresser and a few stems on your night stand!
  • Every boudoir should have music! Load your CD player with some great mood music! Just remember you’re making love, not war – pick your music accordingly!!
  • Champagne in the bedroom? Why not! Set up and ice bucket with a bottle of champagne and pretty flutes. Don’t forget the strawberries and chocolate!
  • On your nightstand have a few books that you can read aloud to your husband. Some erotic novella can read in your sexiest come hither voice!
  • A basket on the nightstand filled with lotions and oils can most definitely spark a fire! Rubbing him down will rev him up!
  • Think about stenciling some romantic quotes on your walls! One of my favorites is “Love conquers all”. Pick your favorite. It could be a line from your wedding vows, or even the date of your wedding. – A simple and sweet reminder to see each day when we awake, and before we sleep at night.
  • Last but not least is your choice of bedroom attire. Sweatpants do not scream seduction. You don’t have to dress like a Victoria Secret model, do put some effort and thought into what you select. Negligees
