Importance of Vitamin K

By Happy Housewife, Tiffany Mitton
Got a cut that wouldn’t stop bleeding for some time? Ever wondered why your blood got thicker when you nicked yourself with your razor? You can thank Vitamin K for that. What is Vitamin K? It’s the clotting vitamin.
We need Vitamin K to make our blood clot. If our blood doesn’t clot as needed we can bleed to death. This is especially important to cause wounds to start healing and repairing the damage to the wound. You can find Vitamin K in cabbage, cauliflower, spinach and other green leafy vegetables, cereals, soybeans, avocados, kiwifruit, and in your GI tract. Vitamin K is also shown in older adults to support their bone health.
So bust out the kiwi on top of some yogurt or oatmeal and eat your spinach like Popeye says! That’s gotta be why Popeye always won the battle and healed quickly. He got plenty of Vitamin K.
