Holiday Meditation

Because Christmas can be one of the most stressful times of year, we housewives need to meditate more than normal everyday. Start early and work at this all month long so you can avoid the extra stress this time of year. Instead of taking the usual 15 minutes of daily meditation, create a holiday meditating mantra and go through it a couple times everyday until Christmas!

  • Light a scented candle perfect for the season. I have a baked apple pie one that fills my house completely!
  • Make sure you are comfortable. Sitting and folding your legs yoga style is not required. Giant red Christmas pajamas work perfectly!
  • Make sure you are alone. Even if you have to hide in the bathroom or car to get away from your hubby and kids, do it. Find some peace.
  • Close your eyes and imagine the day after Christmas. The gifts, no matter their number were opened and the kids are playing happily. The big Christmas dinner has been made and eaten, and everything is already cleaned up. Now you get to sit back and enjoy the sight of happy children, a beautiful tree with no more presents under it to worry about, and the house still smells great from the food the night before, but there are no more dishes to worry about making or cleaning up. It’s all over and you can just enjoy it!
  • Now create a mantra to fit your personal situation, here is mine:

“Christmas is not about presents, so I’m not upset that we don’t have money to buy them. If my family knew that I was stressing over the holiday so much, it might ruin it completely for them. I know that with the Happy Housewives Club, I have constant resources to get my house in order, prepare a beautiful meal, look fabulous, and stay stress free & debt free. I can also find ways to make extra money for presents, and if not, I know where to go to make homemade fun gifts for everyone! Christmas will be great this year!”
