When I wrote my book in 2005 I wanted to help women feel proud of their role as wife and homemaker. I wanted the world to hear the voice of the mother, the most important role in society. I created this site for women who believed in putting their family first to come together for support and comradery. I love what I have built. I love our community. And the message that I have been promoting is finally being recognized.

When my book first came out I was ridiculed by the feminists. I was trashed by the career women who accused me of demoralizing women and trying to take them from the career world. Just look at all the horrible things written about me on amazon and on the net.

But now its changing isn't it. The women of America are realizing what is important and we, all of us in HHC have been leading the way. We were talking about cutting back and getting back to basics a year ago. We have been promoting the power of the family all along. Finally the rest of the world is seeing what we see. That the only thing that matters is your family.

People are losing their jobs, their homes, and their security. This economic recession is very real and it is going to get worse. I cannot continue to promote my 'happy housewife' agenda without feeling silly about the title. At this point I must consider all the women writing to me in desperate times. Does this mean I am not positive? No. This means I am taking a proactive step in making sure we are smart, prepared, and strong.

It has always been the mother throughout history who holds her family together. It is the mother who must make sure her children thrive no matter what. It is us, the women who will pull our families through this recession.

As a result of what is happening in America and around the world, I am going to be rethinking and redesigning this website over the next few months to reflect what is important right now.

I am not sure how it will end up. We are all on this journey together.
