Tax cuts won't do anything if you have no job!
So this week on my radio show I was talking about the stimulus package and caller after caller came in, saying intead of spending money we should just cut taxes.
But if you don't have a job what is the point of cutting taxes?
Last month 600,000 people lost their jobs. The month before 500,000 jobs were lost. If you were working for 14 years at a good manufacturing job and then you are laid off, you can't pay your mortgage so you lose your house, and you can't buy food so you go to the food pantry, and soon you are desperate.
Lets say the taxes were cut, and no one making under 100k did not have to pay federal tax, sounds great.... but only if you have a job.
We need to put money out there to fix America.
You give money to governor and he hires a contracting firm to fix the roads, bridges and water ways.
You give Mayors money to hire police and fireman.
We have to upgrade our schools and give our children hope of a future.
We must, must, must fix our healthcare system. This is a disaster.
We need to invest in an energy program and put people to work buiding new sources of energy.
This is not a left or right issue. This is a Happy Housewife issue. If our husbands lose their jobs we cannot stay home. If there are no jobs, we will lose our homes.
If the government sent everyone a check for $2,500 which is what you would get in the mail if the stimulus was sent to each of us instead of the officials, what would you do with it? And what would you do when it ran out?
Isn't it better to create jobs? To have people working?
And working at good jobs. Not part time crappy jobs with no benefits. We need lifelong jobs that you can make a good living and raise a family. We need decent jobs so people can live decent lives.
