It's always something. Geez, as a mom we just can't catch a break. Last week Connor had this horrid head cold. Spitting up phlegm all day, hacking and caughing, and me following him around the house with the Lysol spray. I tried to be sweet and comforting but you know there were times when I just wanted to get away and get out of the house. Then Hannah caught it. On Monday she started with the runny nose, and drippy snot. I made chicken soup, and stayed by her side, of course with laptop in hand. She recovered quickly and finally on Tuesday, after ten day stint of being stuck at home, I was free.... free at last. So wondeful to have both children in school. I could drink my coffee, hang on HHC... get to a salon for highlights... Yay for me! Not! My washing machine decided to take its last breath and release all of the water from a super load onto the floor. Now that is a joy to clean up. Sudsy water everywhere. So, no highlights for me but on my knees soaking up water. Now off to find a new washer. Have you seen some of these? They look like the space shuttle. I can't even get one of these high pretty red thingy's because I have cabinets above my washer and dryer and I don't have the room. So do I take down the cabinets and modernize my laundry room? In this recession though how much money do I want to spend? Some of these are crazy at more than 1k???? Maybe I can get mine fixed? So today I wait for the Maytag man to show up. Hannah sprained her ankle yesterday at gym and it is swollen and yes she is home today. Calling my name every five minutes. I have take her for an xray this morning. Tomorrow I leave for a ski vacation to Vermont so I am sure her ankle will be broken, because you all know how my vacations are cursed. I think Dawn wrote one time "why do you even go on vacations Darla?' Well this is booked and paid for (before recession booking) along with friends who are meeting us there. It should be a load of fun for me now as I will be in the condo with Hannah. LOL
You have to laugh it all off.

If it's not one thing, it's another! Hopefully the washer will be fixed. Ours went kaput 3 days before Christmas and it was some water level reader that died. It was a quick fix and under $100.

Hopefully Hannah will just have a sprained ankle. They can swell up pretty good and bruise almost like a broken ankle. You need to hit the slopes. It's theraputic. (But I'm biased on the skiing thing. I'm addicted.)

Back from the orthopedic doctor. Hannah now has a full cast on from toe to knee. She fractured her ankle. Three weeks with the cast on. I am waiting for my mother now to come sit her so I can go get crutches. Just another day in paradise.

Sounds alot like a standard week here. If your washer can't be fixed there are some smaller h/e modles. Since we move alot i bought smaller ones that I can stack or put side by side so no matter where we go i'm set.

Oh Darla!!! I am SO SORRY!!!! I feel your pain - today was my first day since Feb 2nd that I have had all 3 kids in school!!! It started with Sara having strep and then Mikey got the flu, followed by David followed by Sara again! UGH! So sick of PUKE! LOL

I hope Hannah's ankle feels better soon!!!! A tip we learned with David's broken wrist was if it's itchy you are not suppossed to stick anything in it but itch the outside of the cast - he swore it worked and stopped the itching!

GOOD LUCK!! Have fun this weekend!!!!

Every kid needs at least one cast in their life. It's like a rite of passage. Of course, every mother shouldn't have to deal with the rite of passage. *hugs for Darla*
