Can two uber successful people have a successful marriage? The news of Sandra Bullock's creepy husband having an 11 month long affair with another creepy person who is a tatoo model. This gorgeous, funny, smart woman, Sandra Bullock, wins and Oscar and then is brought to her knees, crushed by this news. I heard on The CBS Early Show this morning that their is an 'Oscar Curse.' So many women who win the Oscars find their marriages fall apart soon after. Julia Roberts, Hilary Swank, that one from the Titanic, and a few more that I forgot, learned their men were leaving or cheating when they brought home their golden man. Is it jealousy? Can a man truly accept and adore such a successful woman? Especially if that hubby is a fellow actor. Can the woman really be the one on top?

My personal opinion is that most actors are mentally unhealthy and tend to find themselves in toxic relationships. I'm sorry to generalize and I'm positive there are some very healthy people in that biz, but the very job description of being an actor and all the bullshit/fame/fans/attention/unreal lifestyle that comes with it just breeds unhealthy thinking. :(
I don't think it has to do so much with "Sandra can't even keep her man happy" but rather that she fell in love and married someone without respect for those vows. And I believe most of those actors just have a very skewed sense of reality.

I remember being shocked when just after Reese Witherspoon won her Oscar she and her husband divorced. This was another couple that was so in love, etc. He is a fellow actor, I cannot rememer his name! Getting an Oscar for an actor is like finding The Holy Grail. So, it could be jealousy.
Men just can't take the success of their women. I don't need to be successful as to see it. Whenever I'm excited about meeting a friend or having a good time with her or him, hubby would do something to dampen it or even so far as to embarass me in front of him/her or them.
As is the case also of Hugh Grant. Elizabeth Hurley because successful with her Estee Lauder ads and films, he went to do that to crash her down immediately.
There's nothing you can do about it. It's nature, I guess.

It was sad news to me about Sandra Bullock's marital problems. She was loved in the step mom forums for the active roll she played in her step child's life. I feel sorry for this poor little girl who now has to lose yet another 'Mom' due to her father's inability to stick to his vows.
I often wonder not only about the jealousy factor but also to the work load. It's hard enough to make a marriage work under normal circumstances. I'm sure having the added strain of long seperations (for shoots), demanding work schedules, and being in the spotlight all the time must surely take a heavy tole.
And although I hate to admit it, I do agree with the idea that perhaps some of these people have 'issues' to begin with. Add it all up and I'm surprised any of these marriages last more than a few months!
