Business: Inventor/Designer of Nursing Curtain® and the Simple and Sweet Nursing Curtain™, Chula Vista, CA.

What: Breastfeeding Nursing Curtain and Clothing Line

Evie’s idea came to light after her Nephew was born. She took receiving blankets and turned it into a blanket that could hang over “Mommy” while nursing.   After giving birth herself, Evie decided to take a leave of absence from school. Motherhood took priority, and she began the task of developing a “full proof” Nursing Curtain made of 100% cotton.

Needless to say, there were several “drawing board meetings”, getting all of the materials just right for a comfortable fit, and of course, it had to look good. Mothers now can choose from two different styles, either lined or un-lined, and a variety of cute patterns.

Now, you are probably asking where the name came from… Evie choose a name that was close to her heart, her children’s pet’s name, “Mommy’s Little Monkey”.

Evie knew she had created a great item for Mommy’s, and wanted to patent her product. Being a SAHM of three, she did all the research (to keep cost down), and wrote it in 5 month’s. The patent was just accepted in 2007! The Nursing Curtain® is a registered trademark as well.

Evie currently makes each nursing cover herself, giving detail and love into each cover that is made. Evie is a prime example of a WAHM. Evie shared that it can be exhausting to make her own product and do the business networking all by herself. She is waiting for just the right time to outsource the work.  

Since launching of Nursing Curtain® she has also started The Simple and Sweet Nursing Curtain™ giving women the choice between the two covers, as well as the clothing line.
