Hello to all of our proud mamas! My name is Nina Quinn, and I am the Parenting Contributor here on Darla Shine’s Happy Housewives Club. I have been happily married to my husband Tim since 2000. We have one sweet little boy named Sam who is in first grade, and I also have a 23 yr old son, TJ. My husband is in the US Navy, and we are currently settling into a small town in northwest Arkansas. Before meeting and marrying my soul mate, I was a high school teacher in New Orleans, LA. My degree is in secondary education with a minor in psychology. Teaching was the ideal job of a mama of a high-schooler, and it allowed me to always be home when my oldest was. I taught until I had Sam in 2001, and I have been an at-home mom since then. Being an at-home mom to my little one is the most important job to me now. We have gone through some Navy moves, and we have made it through some tough times, but my husband always helps me keep it together. Before reading “Happy Housewives” I was happily married. Since the book and becoming active on this website, I have truly become a Happy Housewife! Being surrounded by women who embrace this life has risen me up in ways I didn’t anticipate when I joined in the summer of ‘07. Darla has enabled us to band together with women from all walks of life who make their families and their homes a true career. Becoming the Parenting Contributor is another in a long line of blessings that have come as a result of being a mother. Regardless of how we do become mamas, it is often the purest thing we will ever be allowed to do. I take a great deal of pride in the time and energy I put into parenting and look forward to sharing all of our ideas. Darla is a big proponent of “playing with our kids”, and I couldn’t agree more. So, take time each day to be with your kids in place of watching your kids. The benefits will be endless! |
